NAGIERRE

 

Nageire-bana (tossed-in flowers) is similar to mori-bana, but the nageire method uses tall narrow-mouthed containers or vases without using a kenzan. We arrange flowers as if the flowers were tossed in.

The style reflects a naturalness achieved through carefully considered freedom from complexity. Typical upright Nagierre has the following dimensions:

HEAVEN

one and a half times the height plus the width of the container, measured from the rim.

MAN	three-fourths the length of Heaven.

EARTH

one half the length of Heaven
